United We Run --- let's applaud 3,026 runners and the support team of over 300
students, staff and alumni at the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon
on February 16, 2014.
At the Marathon, Vice-Chancellor Lap-Chee Tsui was presented the "Most
Supportive Member Award". Since 2006, Professor Tsui has been leading
the HKU Marathon Team. This year, he once again ran in the Leaders' Cup
race and cheered for the runners till 1pm at the HKU Booth, Victoria
Park.
Winners:
1. Rachel Sproston: Champion in Half Marathon (Women's Master 1)
2. Karen Hung: First runner-up in Half Marathon (Women’s Overall and
Women's Senior)
3. Angela Leung: First runner-up in 10Km (Women's Master 2)
4. Michelle Lowry: Second runner-up in Full Marathon (Women's Master 1)
5. (From right) Professor John Leong, Mr James Thompson, Dr Ko Wing-man,
Dr Leong Che-hung and Mrs Patricia Chu received the "Best Marathon
Spirit Award" from Mr Benjamin Hung
A big THANK YOU to over 9,300 runners and 2,300 Support Team members who
have joined the HKU Marathon Team since 2006. Let's celebrate the HKU
spirit!
