Marathon Day

Arrangement on Marathon Day

Dear HKU Marathon Team members,

While getting ready for this big day, please note the following:

  1. There is a HKU Marathon Booth is located near the finishing line in Victoria Park (see map). Please use it to meet your friends and other team mates and cheer other HKU runners. HKU Marathon Team members are invited to use our complimentary photo service to record the memorable event on-site. Changing facilities, professional after-exercise therapy and light refreshments will also be provided.

  2. HKU 10km Runners:

    The HKU Cheering Team will be stationed at the junction of Hing Fat Street and Lau Li Street next to Victoria Park (near the entrance to the Island Eastern Corridor) to greet you and take group photos before you start your race. Please look out and join them before your race (see map).

  3. HKU Half and Full Marathon Runners:

    The HKU Cheering Team will be stationed at the junction of Nathan Road and Cameron Road, Tsim Sha Tsui to greet you. Runners are most welcome to gather at Cameron Road at around 6:30 am and 7:30 am respectively for group photos before your race. (see map)

  4. Good news for Full Marathon Runners! A specially designed HKU Marathon towel will be presented to you by our Cheering Team when you finish the run, at either the Finishing Line or the HKU Booth in Victoria Park!

  5. HKU Team WILL NOT provide baggage service this year. PLEASE USE THE SCB HK MARATHON BAGGAGE SERVICE. For details, please refer to the Runner's Guide of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon.

Last but not least, please keep on practising, do not overdo it and have enough rest. The temperature will be about 17 - 21C, and it will be sunny and a bit humid on the day. Please make sure you have plenty of carbohydrates (i.e. rice, bread, bananas) before the run.

Remember to do at least a 20-minute WARM UP before you set off. Have a safe, healthy and happy run! See you on February 8!
