United We Run
Let's applaud the 2,200 runners and the support team of over 100 students, staff and alumni of the HKU Marathon Team at the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon on February 12.

Congratulations to Education alumna Rachel Sproston who is the Champion in Half Marathon (Women's Master 2) and 79-year-old Kwong Hung-piu who is the most senior runner in the Team.

A big THANK YOU to over 13,000 runners and 3,000 Support Team members who have joined the HKU Marathon Team from 2006 to 2017.

Special thanks also goes to the Centre for Sports and Exercise for training programmes; HKU Bachelor of Chinese Medicine (Full-time) Alumni Assoication for the therapeutic service on the race day; MSc(ECom&IComp) Programme Office and alumni, and the Development & Alumni Affairs Office for organising the Team.

The HKU Marathon Team was founded by Professor Paul Cheung in 2006 with the aim of promoting the sport of running and the spirit of marathon. It is also the first local university marathon team which has participated in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon and won the "Most Supportive Group Award" since 2006. Together, let's continue the HKU marathon spirit.

Together, we have won the Most Supportive Group Award for the 12th consecutive year (2006 - 2017).
