HKU won the TOP PRIZE of the Most Supportive Group
Award and 2nd Place of Master 1, Half Marathon of Standard Chartered
Hong Kong Marathon on March 4!
We proudly announce that the HKU Marathon Team won the TOP PRIZE of the Most
Supportive Group Award of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2007!
And, HKU runner Rachel Sproston, graduate of Postgraduate Diploma in
Education, won the 2nd place in Master 1 of Half Marathon. Last year,
she won the 3rd place in the Senior 2 category of the same race.
United We Run!
1,810 alumni, students and staff of HKU teamed up to join the
Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon on March 4, 2007. Over 100+
students, staff and alumni have generously volunteered to be part of the
Support Team. Both Vice-Chancellor Lap-Chee Tsui and Pro-Vice-Chancellor
C F Lee led the team and ran at the 10Km Race.
During the race today, the team spirit of the HKU Family was fully
demonstrated among the runners and the support team. Before the race,
special training sessions were provided to the runners by professional
trainers. On the race day, a start-off ceremony was held for each
category and cheering teams were positioned at various locations to
cheer the team on. Exclusive baggage service was provided to all HKU
runners.
